It’s hard to imagine what the world will be like when the students who entered kindergarten in 2016 graduate from MEI Secondary in the year 2029.

What jobs will they apply for and what skills will be required in order to win those jobs? If you have this answer please write down your thoughts and publish a book because the whole education world is asking this question right now… and congratulations on your #1 Best Seller!

What will the spiritual climate be when these children leave our care? Again, it’s hard to imagine the answer to this one, but we can generate some ideas based on the direction of pop culture and social norms over the past decade.

kw-26As we move forward together at MEI, we are committed to developing these children into learners and leaders. If our students are able to look at a problem, generate a number of guiding questions, and then are able to access various resources to find the needed information, they will be prepared to face whatever comes their way in the future. They will have learned how to learn. Further, if we can move our students towards being women and men who lead with character, competence, and confidence; making ethical and sound decisions in whatever situations they may face, they will be sought after by organizations around the world.

Future Conversations:
“This applicant is from MEI? We need to hire them because that school produces outstanding leaders who are innovative in their approach!”

“So-and-so is an MEI grad? Let’s see if they’re willing to help lead Women’s Ministry. It’s amazing, but their grads can be counted on to lead with integrity and creativity!”

“Hmmm, we have a lot of applicants to our doctorate program with really good grades. Oh, we have an MEI grad in the mix. They’ll rise above because of the service learning their school does through Missions and in-class assignments.”

Finally, it is critical that we model and teach an authentic faith in Jesus Christ to our students. We are committed to doing that for each child in our care. As it turns out, none of us are perfect, including MEI Staff. We do have a perfect solution for our imperfections, namely, Jesus. By modeling that true worship is a lifestyle that we live out daily (Romans 12:1-2), we will hope to inspire our students to making meaningful and authentic decisions to live for Jesus.

“Start a child off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it” ~ Prov. 22:6

Please pray for us as we work to make MEI an engaging learning experience for all in classes, through extra-curricular opportunities, and in our worship.
